Role Overview:
As a Farm Manager with at least 10 years of hands-on experience in polyfarming, your role will involve overseeing day-to-day farming operations, ensuring optimal productivity, and leading a team of workers to maintain high standards of crop quality. You will manage all aspects of vegetable farming in polyhouses, including sowing, planting, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting. It will be your responsibility to plan and implement advanced techniques for vegetable cultivation, focusing on maximizing yield and quality. Monitoring and maintaining the microclimate inside polyhouses to ensure optimal growth conditions will also be a key task.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of vegetable farming in polyhouses, including sowing, planting, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting.
- Plan and implement advanced techniques for vegetable cultivation, focusing on maximizing yield and quality.
- Monitor and maintain the microclimate inside polyhouses to ensure optimal growth conditions.
- Manage farm laborers, provide training, and ensure productivity and adherence to best practices.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any issues related to pests, diseases, or resource utilization.
- Keep detailed records of farming activities, including crop yield, expenses, and resource usage.
- Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with agronomists and supply chain teams to improve farming techniques and align with market demand.
Qualifications and experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in farm management with a focus on polyfarming of vegetables (e.g, cucumber, capsicum, etc.).
- Proven expertise in managing polyhouse or greenhouse environments.
- Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, pest and disease management, and advanced cultivation techniques.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of workers.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with modern agricultural technologies and sustainable practices.
- Degree or diploma in Agriculture or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
