Job Summary:

The Building Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. They ensure that all electrical work complies with local codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Install and maintain wiring, lighting systems, and electrical control equipment.

Troubleshoot electrical problems and repair faulty wiring or fixtures.

Inspect electrical components like transformers, circuit breakers, and panels.

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.

Ensure all work is performed safely and according to applicable codes and standards.

Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.

Collaborate with other construction and maintenance professionals.

Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using tools such as multimeters.

Report potential electrical hazards or problems to management.

Requirements:

High school diploma or technical certification in electrical work.

Proven experience as an electrician in building construction or maintenance.

Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and local codes.

Ability to use hand and power tools related to electrical work.

Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces.

Valid electrician license or certification (as required by local law).
