Payments Officer Wanted in Kuwait

Key responsibilities

•Ensure all types of payment transactions (transfer, withdrawal, deposit) are delt with in an efficient and timely manner.

•Track currency exchange fluctuations and provide department management with local rates based on international bank rates.

•Comply and apply anti- money laundering policies, by reporting instances of non- compliance, errors, omissions, or inadequacies in procedures to the department manager.

•Collaborate with the Compliance and Risk team or other teams if there are any payment activity highlights for orientation.

•To reconcile each pay- cycle with the previous period pay- cycle and explain any variances. Any payments that should not be made should be “held” or “rejected”.

•Ensure any suspicious transactions identified are timely informed to and discussed with the department manager for resolution and if required, reported to the Compliance Manager.

•Ensure any overpayments made to customers are reclaimed in a timely manner and that records of overpayments and reclaims are maintained and correctly accounted for both in Payment and the Accounting systems.

•Suggest and discuss with Supervisor or/and Manager the payment scenarios for huge withdrawals by proper coordination with relevant departments.

•Liaising with several departments and solving the various issues that arise during the daily operations.

•Handle all back- office duties related to payments.

•Handle complex and escalated long- standing payment cases.

•Maximize payment operational performance by self- developing and seeking a daily guidance (in technical tips & advises) from payment Supervisor or/and Manager avoiding repeating the same failures.

•Ability to prepare reports required by management with accuracy of reporting and data information.

•Maintain records in accordance with Finance Department regulations.

Knowledge and experience

•Bachelor/College degree in Business, Finance, Accountancy, or relevant field.

•1- 2 years of experience within accounting environment or a related field.

•Familiarity with risk management.

•Committed team player who works well with other people and takes initiative to communicate actively to get the job done.

•Committed to attend variable working shifts as required.

•Accurate, attentive to details, and multitasking

•Excellent in all MS office applications, especially Excel.
