Required: Network Engineer (Cisco)

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in network engineering or similar role.

• Valid Cisco CCNP required.

• Experience with Cisco switches, routers, firewalls (FirePOWER), telephony, and wireless.

• Must have a driving license and transferable residency.

Skills

• Cisco IOS proficiency; router/switch configuration, backup and recovery.

• Configuring Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, telephony and wireless.

• Network troubleshooting, performance tuning, problem- solving and analytical skills.

• Network design and implementation; experience with MPLS and VRF.

• IPv4 subnetting, IP addressing, OSPF, EIGRP, routing protocols, LAN knowledge.

• Strong documentation, time- management, and people- management skills.

• Familiarity with Cisco MPLS, HSRP, DHCP, DNS, FTP, TFTP, Syslog.

• Knowledge of Microsoft servers, HP Data Center operations, and management software.

• Knowledge of access control, security best practices and firewall operation (FirePOWER).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize network performance; schedule and apply upgrades.

• Build, configure and update network devices and connections (switches, routers, wireless, telephony).

• Troubleshoot network issues and respond quickly to outages; resolve Tier 2/3 tickets escalated from Tier 1.

• Deploy and maintain solutions designed by Senior Engineers; implement network designs.

• Audit and manage IP addressing, subnets, and routing models.

• Define, document and enforce network/system standards, policies and access controls.

• Collaborate with network architects on optimization and deployments.

• Maintain and support Microsoft servers, HP Data Center hardware and management software as required.

• Ensure network security and compliance.
