Job Title: Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Transmission (Up to 400 kV)

Location: Kuwait

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Design Engineer specialized in high- voltage transmission systems up to 400 kV.

The role focuses on design, review, and technical validation of:

• Substations (GIS / AIS)

• Overhead transmission lines

• Underground cable systems

This role is strictly for Electrical Engineers with transmission design experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Substation Design (Up to 400 kV)

• Review and develop:

• Single Line Diagrams (SLD)

• Protection schemes

• Equipment layouts

• Coordinate GIS / AIS design requirements

• Ensure compliance with IEC and utility standards

2. Underground Cable Systems

• Design and review HV/EHV cable systems (up to 400 kV)

• Evaluate:

• Cable sizing

• Routing and installation methods

• Jointing and termination requirements

• Support technical submissions and approvals

3. Overhead Transmission Lines

• Review and support design of OHL systems up to 400 kV

• Coordinate with tower design, conductor selection, and line routing

• Ensure compliance with technical and environmental requirements

4. Technical Coordination

• Interface with:

• Consultants

• Clients

• Contractors

• Review technical submittals and respond to clarifications

• Support value engineering and optimization

Mandatory Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory)

Experience

• Minimum 7–12 years’ experience in transmission design

• Proven experience in:

• Substations up to 400 kV

• Underground cables up to 400 kV

• Overhead lines up to 400 kV

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of:

• HV / EHV systems

• IEC standards

• Substation and cable design practices

• Ability to independently review and validate designs

Other Requirements

• Kuwait/GCC experience preferred

• Strong English communication
