Kuwait – Private Sheep Farm

Position Overview

We are seeking one highly experienced professional to act as both Sheep Veterinarian and Farm Manager for a private sheep- production farm in Kuwait.

The role focuses on sheep health, breeding management, and production optimization, with a specific emphasis on crossbreeding programs involving Romanov, Chefali, and other suitable breeds.

This is a hands- on, on- farm role with full responsibility for animal health, fertility, lambing, and daily flock operations.



Key Responsibilities

Veterinary & Animal Health

• Design and execute vaccination, deworming, and biosecurity programs

• Diagnose and treat diseases; emergency response and outbreak control

• Supervise medication usage and maintain accurate health records

• Manage quarantine and introduction of new animals

Breeding & Reproduction (Core Responsibility)

• Lead crossbreeding programs (Romanov × Chefali × other breeds)

• Improve fertility rates, lambing percentages, and litter size

• Heat detection support, breeding timing, pregnancy monitoring

• Full lambing supervision: dystocia assistance, newborn care, colostrum management

• Post- partum care and lamb survival optimization

Farm & Production Management

• Day- to- day management of the sheep flock

• Supervise farm workers; train staff on handling, injections, hygiene, and monitoring

• Coordinate feeding and nutrition programs (body condition scoring, minerals, supplements)

• Monitor and improve production KPIs:

• Lambing %

• Mortality rate

• Weaning success

• Growth and overall flock performance

• Monthly reporting to ownership with clear production and health metrics



Requirements

• 5–10+ years of proven experience with sheep production (not primarily goats)

• Strong hands- on experience in:

• Lambing assistance

• Fertility improvement

• Crossbreeding systems (Romanov experience is a strong advantage)

• Veterinary background or extensive professional livestock- health management experience

• Practical, field- oriented (not academic only)

• Able to live on or near the farm and respond to emergencies

• English required; Arabic is an advantage
